A Quick "Shelf"ie Update!

It was another crazy week in ELA. No school Monday, a regular day on Tuesday, a snow day on Wednesday, a two-hour delay on Thursday, and a regular day on Friday. We are looking forward to a normal, five-day week!

This is going to be a short post ... just a "Shelf"ie update. We are reading a lot of great books. Keep it up!

PAWS Meeting and Camp Read S'More!

It's been another crazy week at North Hills ...! Thanks to the snow, we started our week with two Cyber Snow Days and a two-hour delay on Wednesday. On Friday, we had an early dismissal, too! I am looking forward to a normal week!

On Friday, we had our PAWS Meeting. At this meeting, we learned that we have read 51% of our book goal of almost 20,000 books! We only have a few months left to reach this goal ... the more books we read, the more teachers that get sent to camp! So far, only one teacher from our team (Miss Kahl) has been sent to camp. Will any other teachers from our hallway be sent to camp??? I know 6th grade is hoping for Mr. W and I to BOTH be sent to camp ...! Keep reading books to find out!

Four new campers were revealed at our PAWS Meeting on Friday!

Our activity at the PAWS Meeting was to READ!! It was great to watch all of North Hills (teachers AND students) enjoying some quiet reading time.

This Week's Question: I've been challenged by Mrs. Kessel to post pictures of my favorite books .... What is your favorite book?? Why? Email me for a prize!

Some Long Overdue Updates ...!

Hello, 6th Grade! I apologize for not posting in a while ... it's been a crazy few weeks of training, snow, and assessments.

In ELA, we are finally presenting our biography projects! Everyone worked hard on their research and put a lot of effort into their presentations. The presentations have been excellent so far and I have no doubt the others will be great, too. Check out some pictures of us practicing with partners below.

Next week (Feb. 11), we will finally get back to a normal workshop. Reading groups, choice boards, WTW practice, and more. Many groups will be starting non-fiction and others are working on point of view. I am excited to get back to this routine!

Finally, our "Shelf"ie is growing so fast! Keep up the wonderful reading!

Question: What are three things you have learned as a result of our biography presentations? Email me to win!

P.S.: Stay tuned for a Box Tops update .......!
