This Week in ELA ...

In Writing this week, we continued to work on our biography projects. Some students have been finishing up research, while others have started creating their presentation. There are a lot of wonderful ideas for projects and I am excited to see the final products.

During Reading, many groups continued to work on identifying and analyzing points of view. Other groups are working on character traits, while others are starting to dig into some non-fiction content. On Friday, our half-day turned into a full-day with a two-hour delay (thanks, snow). With that wacky change in our schedule, we decided to take the time to read independently and practice fluency with a reader's theater. One class read a script full of alliteration and tongue twisters, while the other group read about the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Our "Shelf"ie continues to fill up! Keep up the great reading everyone!

Question of the Week: What is your favorite fact you learned while doing your biography research? Email me by Tuesday morning to win some candy!
